Siós Cau del Gat is an organic red wine made by the Costers del Sió winery, which belongs to the D.O. Costers del Segre. This organic red wine is pure strength and an explosion of sensations. The vineyard called "Cau del gat" owes its name to one of the legends related to this farm, which tells that there was a cat that always took shelter in this vineyard when he wanted to give birth to his offspring.
Intense cherry red color with violet iridescence. Deep, layered, clean and bright. Its aromas stand out for their freshness and for having a very good combination between red fruits (raspberries, black currants) and the floral notes of violets. Spicy aromas such as cocoa, balsamic, mentholated, rosemary and undergrowth are also appreciated. Complex and wide mouth. It has a smooth and friendly entry. The result is a silky, round and balanced wine, with an intense, persistent and fruity aftertaste. With perfect harmony between freshness, acidity, tannins and aftertaste.
It goes perfectly with roasts of beef or veal. Also with any type of grilled meat flavored with herbs and other spices. It pairs very well with goat and sheep cheeses, blue cheeses and strong-tasting cow cheeses.
Aging: 9 months in 300-liter French oak barrels. Aging in bottle for a period of no less than 15 months.
